What is Just In Time PR?

Just In Time PR is a risk-free PR service that gives companies and other organisations great publicity for their products, services and brands.

BBC-NEWS_AEExperts simply send us their basic contact details and website addresses and are added to our database.

When a story breaks upon which they have expertise, we’ll be rapidly in touch, issue an initial comment to all relevant media and, if requested, put forward nominated spokespeople for radio slots and TV.

Just In Time PR is a purely ‘reactive’ PR agency and can work comfortably alongside your existing PR agency.

Absolutely. The vast, vast majority of businesses love good publicity and that’s what Just In Time PR is all about. Best of all, it’s about giving you publicity just at the time when the story you’re quoted in is attracting all the attention, i.e. is in the news.
Just In Time PR is a performance-based PR service. If we don’t secure you media coverage, you don’t pay a penny. Our fees are as follows:

Local/regional/trade media (online and/or print) £100
Local TV/radio (£200)
National media (online and/or print) £200
National TV/radio £250
Press Association/Associated Press/Other Newswire £300

Prices exclude VAT and are ‘capped’ at £500 for each media statement.

Absolutely not. And just because you sign up doesn’t mean you have to use us, either. You’re under no pressure at all.

Within working hours, we’ll call you whenever a story breaks that is appropriate for your company and expertise. At the weekends, we will text/email you in the first instance to alert you to an opportunity. We are aware that you have a life to lead and that there is more to life than mere media coverage!

That very much depends on how often news stories break that are relevant to your company. We may call you several times in one month or you may not hear from us for several months, but you can be assured that when we do call, it’s because a story is breaking that is relevant to your audience. We won’t waste your time–we will only call you if we believe the story is appropriate.

Ideally, we would like to be able to speak to someone as senior as possible within the company. Most journalists don’t like quotes attributed to marketing or PR managers, so, if possible, we would prefer to talk to someone at director or even managing director level. Also, because of the fast moving nature of reactive news, we will need to provide a ‘statement’ as quickly as possible, so the less people we have to speak to to draft and approve copy, the better.

Not at all. Just In Time PR can work comfortably alongside your existing PR agency’s activities. In our experience, most PR agencies are quite slow at reacting to the news and this is where Just In Time PR can provide a risk-free, value-added service to your existing PR spend.

We accept that there’s more to PR than simply generating media coverage and in no way would we want to tread on your existing agency’s toes. However, why miss a golden opportunity to feature in a news story that could generate instant results and great brand exposure for your business?

The Press Association (PA) and Associated Press (AP) are newswire services, as are Reuters and Bloomberg. Many (inter)national, regional and online media won’t have the resources to cover every story that breaks, so they will often publish a story provided by a newswire or add their own flavour and thoughts to that copy.

If a statement that we prepare with you is picked up by PA, it could appear on no end of local, regional, trade, national and international websites. This is why it costs slightly more than other media.

Yes. Your private details will not be shared with any third parties.

Just In Time PR was founded by the directors of Rhizome PR, an established London-based agency made up of ex-journalists with an exceptional track record in generating media coverage for its clients. Rhizome PR’s clients include some of the UK’s fastest growing and established brands, e.g. uSwitch, Moneycorp, Turner & Townsend, Spareroom, Protectyourbubble.com, Dragonfly Property Finance and HW Fisher & Company.

Will I get charged for publicity or editorial coverage that is not relevant?

Absolutely not. We will only charge you for coverage that we both agree to be relevant. For example, if you are a Manchester-based firm of financial advisers, you will pay us if you get coverage in the Manchester Evening News or other local/regional media, and national/international media (should you request it). You will NOT pay us if you are quoted in Gloucester’s The Citizen!

When relevant coverage is achieved, Just In Time PR will e-mail you an invoice and provide you with its bank details so that you can make payment electronically. Alternatively, customers can pay via Google Checkout: just let us know what suits you best. We simply ask our customers to make payment within 7 days of the invoice being received. It’s peanuts anyway, so no excuses!

To ensure maximum publicity, we will issue your statement to a long list of relevant media. We will charge you for coverage that both parties agree to be relevant. Under no circumstances will we charge you for coverage that isn’t relevant.

We have capped the fee at £500+VAT for any single ‘statement’ issued to the media to ensure that you won’t be hit by a jaw-dropping bill running into the thousands. However, imagine if a statement we submit for you appears in the Daily Mail, Telegraph, Times, Guardian and on the BBC website with a link: you’d be hard pressed to find any PR agency in the country that would secure you that level of coverage for £5,000, let alone £500!

Rest assured we are very skilled at what we do and highly experienced in this field, so we will always ensure that your ‘statement’ reaches the right audience. After all, it doesn’t benefit us to issue your statement to the wrong media because we want to have happy clients who use us time and again!
